COVID-19

COVID-19 Brief

Hope On Foundation (HOF) is committed to bridging the gap between myths and reality by educating and raising awareness about COVID-19, its impacts, and preventive measures. Through awareness programs conducted in schools, communities, and Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), we have actively promoted essential COVID-19 guidelines.

During the pandemic, HOF distributed dry ration kits to specially vulnerable households , including persons with disabilities, widows, elderly individuals living in isolation (10000 households), and no-income families and ensuring that those often overlooked in mass distributions received support. As part of our humanitarian outreach, we also organised food distribution drives for marginalised communities such as daily wage laborers, homeless individuals, slum dwellers, and other low-income groups, delivering meals directly to their doorsteps across Delhi. Additionally, to enhance protection against COVID-19, we distributed hygiene kits containing dental care items, masks, sanitizers, and soaps during our awareness programs to 15000 beneficiaries. Our efforts continue to focus on ensuring the well-being and resilience of vulnerable communities in times of crisis.

What is COVID-19

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus.

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment.  Older people and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illnesses.

Prevention from COVID-19

The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is to be well informed about the COVID-19 virus, the disease it causes and how it spreads. Protect yourself and others from infection by washing your hands or using an alcohol-based rub frequently and not touching your face.

The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes, so it’s important that you also practice respiratory etiquette (for example, by coughing into a flexed elbow).

What we have done so far

During this pandemic (from March’20 to till date) Hope On Foundation is working relentlessly for society in various aspects by self-funding. We tried to reach the unprivileged communities and helped them. We personally went to the communities to benefit them directly through various activities as shown below:
