Community Women Share Their Perspectives Post Menstrual Health and Hygiene Programme

After the completion of the Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH) programme, the women from the community actively shared their reflections and personal experiences. Many expressed that the session was an eye-opener, breaking long-held myths and taboos surrounding menstruation. They appreciated the open and respectful dialogue that encouraged them to ask questions they had previously hesitated to voice.

Several women shared that the programme equipped them with practical knowledge about maintaining hygiene during menstruation, the importance of using sanitary products, and ways to address menstrual discomfort. For some, this was the first time they received medically accurate information, which helped clear misconceptions passed down through generations.

Importantly, the session also fostered a sense of solidarity among the participants, who felt more comfortable discussing menstrual health openly within their families and peer groups. Many expressed a desire for similar initiatives in the future, especially for adolescent girls in the community, to ensure they grow up with awareness and confidence regarding their menstrual health.
