National Mathematics Day is celebrated in India on December 22 to honor the
birth anniversary of the renowned mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.
Established by the Government of India in 2012, the day recognizes Ramanujan’s
significant contributions to mathematical analysis, number theory, and infinite
series. It aims to promote mathematical thinking, encourage students to develop
problem-solving skills, and raise awareness about the importance of mathematics
in various fields. Schools, colleges, and institutions organize seminars, workshops,
and competitions to celebrate the day.
